Wed. Nov. 15th -- Book Discussion by HANK STONE --Wayland Free Library

Hank Stone speaking at Wayland Free Library at 7 PM on Wednesday Nov. 15th about book on future.

CREATING THE FUTURE Free Book Discussion People are increasingly aware that our planet can't indefinitely sustain human civilization as we have created it. The early warning signs of global warming, peak oil, resource depletion, and perpetual war are already upon us. Our culture teaches us that we are powerless to correct these huge problems, so we shrug our shoulders, continue to live as we have, and hope for the best. But there is an alternative to powerless resignation and to denial. It's called "joyful activism"--a way of living that's life-fulfilling and sustainable. By following its principles, we can create a life that's meaningful to ourselves and that helps create a different future for ourselves and our children. We invite you to join us to read and talk about this using a visionary yet down-to-earth book recently written by local author Hank Stone, "TRANSFORMATION: Human Success through Joyful Activism."

We will distribute the book by email in 6 sections, and discuss one section each week. There is no charge for the book or participation. Discussions will take place 2nd & 3rd or 4th Wednesday evenings at 7:00 PM at the Wayland Free Library, W. Naples Street Rd. in Wayland Introduction: Joyful activism allows addressing very large scale problems. Why we have to change course for a positive human future.Ten rules for joyful activism.Ending war / population-resource balance / peak oilRestoring American democracy, andSolving world problems.Discussion sessions will be co-facilitated by Rev.
